🧨 Week 4 Recap: Statement Wins, Shocking Scores, and What It Means for the Road to State

Week 4 is in the books, and Fort Wayne-area football delivered. There were upsets, blowouts, walk-offs, and playoff messages sent across the board. If you blinked, you missed something. But don’t worry, here is everything that mattered, plus what it means for the rest of the ride to Lucas Oil.

📊 Final Scores – Fort Wayne Area (Week 4)

SAC (Summit Athletic Conference)

  • Carroll 27, Bishop Dwenger 24 (Carroll rallies late in a SAC thriller)

  • Snider 34, Wayne 32 (Instant classic. Panthers survive in Game of the Week)

  • Bishop Luers 48, South Side 14

  • North Side 46, Concordia Lutheran 13

  • Homestead 31, Northrop 7

NE8 (Northeast Eight Conference)

  • Leo 35, New Haven 20 (Leo reclaims momentum with a physical win)

  • East Noble 41, DeKalb 14

  • Columbia City 28, Huntington North 12

ACAC (Allen County Athletic Conference)

  • Bluffton 21, Woodlan 18 (Fourth-quarter heroics seal it)

  • South Adams 42, Heritage 28 (Starfires' offense explodes late)

Other Notables

  • North Judson-San Pierre 30, North Miami 14

🌟 Week 4 Highlights and Headline Performers

  • Snider vs. Wayne lived up to the hype. This was a heavyweight brawl. Wayne’s dual-threat quarterback ran wild, but Snider's poise and depth prevailed in crunch time. Both teams look like serious 6A postseason threats.

  • Carroll’s comeback was gutsy. Down 10 entering the fourth quarter, Jimmy Sullivan threw two touchdowns in the final eight minutes to edge Dwenger. It was not pretty, but it was gritty. The Chargers are right in the SAC title hunt.

  • Leo’s rebound was all about physicality. After a shaky Week 3, the Lions bounced back big. Their front seven controlled the line of scrimmage, and the run game chewed clock and defenders alike. They are built for November football.

  • South Adams' offense continues to shine. They scored 28 points in the second half alone, turning a close game into a statement. The ACAC runs through Berne until someone proves otherwise.

  • North Side got back on track. After two tough losses, the Legends reminded everyone how explosive they are. Concordia simply could not hang with their tempo.

🔮 Early Postseason Takeaways

Here is what Week 4 told us about the road ahead.

🏆 SAC

  • Snider and Carroll are your co-favorites. They likely will not meet again unless it is in the 6A playoffs, which would be a war.

  • Wayne is a legitimate contender, but needs to close tight games to go deep.

  • Luers is cruising in 2A and looks every bit like a regional finalist.

🔥 NE8

  • Leo’s physicality makes them dangerous in the late rounds, especially if they stay healthy.

  • East Noble and Columbia City are quietly improving. Do not sleep on either in 4A sectional play.

💣 ACAC

  • South Adams and Bluffton look like they are on a collision course in conference, and possibly again in the 1A playoffs.

  • Heritage is improved, but not quite playoff-tested yet.

🎯 Final Thought

Week 4 separated the contenders from the pretenders. Now, with just five regular season games left, every snap counts. The weather is getting colder. The fan sections are getting louder. Playoff seeds are shifting every week.
