Community Crushes Hunger: Over 137,000 Pounds of Food Donated in Annual Drive

Local businesses, schools, and families rally behind Community Harvest Food Bank’s “U Can Crush Hunger” campaign to fight food insecurity across Northeast Indiana.

Community Harvest Food Bank announced a record-breaking success for its annual “U Can Crush Hunger” campaign, collecting more than 137,000 pounds of food to help local families in need. The drive, which wrapped up this week, brought together schools, businesses, and community groups from across Northeast Indiana in a friendly competition to raise donations and awareness.

The campaign comes at a critical time as food insecurity continues to rise heading into the holiday season. According to Community Harvest, the donations will provide tens of thousands of meals for families served through its partner agencies and mobile pantries.

CEO Carmen Cucchiarella thanked participants for their generosity and creativity, noting that each year’s collaboration “shows the true heart of Fort Wayne.” With demand still high, Community Harvest encourages residents to continue giving or volunteering throughout the winter months.
