🏫 What’s Going On Around Allen County High Schools

Here’s a quick look at what’s been happening at our local high schools lately... lots of student shout-outs, teacher honors, and school news worth celebrating.

  • North Side : Freshmen Alexandria (Butler House) and Axel (Savage House) were recognized as Students of the Week. Their smiles say it all...a great start to their high school journeys.

 

  • Northrop : FWCS secured $92,500 in state safety funds that will support upgrades district-wide, including at Northrop. Families can expect safer, better-equipped spaces this school year.

 

  • Snider : The school hosted its “3DE 10.2 Launch” on Sept 18, a hands-on program connecting classroom lessons to real-world business challenges.

 

  • South Side : English teacher Sierra Miranda turned a $900 Meijer shopping spree prize into a gift for her colleagues, buying supplies for classrooms across the building.

 

  • Wayne : Families and alumni toured newly renovated areas of the school during the Sept 20 open house. The updates drew lots of positive feedback from the community.

 

  • Carroll : Carroll’s food service team got the spotlight in a “Positively Fort Wayne” feature, applauded for creative menus that make school lunches something to look forward to.

 

  • Homestead : Southwest Allen County Schools, including Homestead, received $92,500 in state safety grant funding to upgrade security measures.

 

  • Leo : The school shared fresh updates on construction of its new fieldhouse on Sept 24. Progress photos show big changes coming soon for students and the community.

 

  • Heritage : Heritage students were invited to the Fort Wayne Area College Fair on Sept 23 at Indiana Tech, a big step for juniors and seniors looking ahead.

 

  • New Haven : East Allen County Schools, including New Haven, received $92,500 in state funds for security upgrades.

 

  • Woodlan : Woodlan also benefits from East Allen’s safety-grant funding, which will go toward upgraded technology and student support.

 

  • Concordia Lutheran : The school broke ground Sept 23 on a massive $34 million campus expansion, the largest in its history, adding new classrooms and facilities.

 

  • Bishop Dwenger : Dwenger was awarded $23,125 in state safety funds to enhance secure entries and campus technology.

 

  • Bishop Luers : Luers received $42,457.50 in safety-grant dollars, another boost to security and student well-being.

 

  • Blackhawk Christian : Blackhawk Christian secured $92,500 in grant funding for campus safety upgrades; significant support for this K-12 community.

 

  • Canterbury : Several students were honored as National Merit Semifinalists and College Board Recognition Scholars, a major academic achievement for the school.
