Fort Wayne's Ten Point Coalition Program Relaunched with Renewed Hope |
After a temporary pause, the vital community anti-violence program returns to the streets, kicking off with a walk in the Oxford neighborhood. |
The Ten Point Coalition Program Relaunched today, bringing a celebrated anti-violence initiative back to Fort Wayne neighborhoods.
Led by Fort Wayne United, the program first launched in 2018 under the late Mayor Tom Henry to foster community pride and reduce crime.
The initiative faced a temporary halt in August 2024 under Mayor Sharon Tucker, who cited a need to resolve internal issues and ensure member protection.
Mayor Tucker has since expressed her support for its return, suggesting a new structure as a charitable organization.
Today's relaunch signals a fresh start for community engagement.
The celebration began with an inspiring walk through the Oxford neighborhood, a key focus area for the coalition.
Participants and community leaders later gathered at New Grace to mark the program's official and hopeful return. |
