💡 Igniting the Future: Bishop Luers High School Launches $11 Million Capital Campaign

Major renovations, a new auxiliary gym, and lasting naming opportunities highlight the “Ignite Luers Spirit” initiative while enrollment for future Knights is now open.

Bishop Luers High School is excited to announce its Ignite Luers Spirit Capital Campaign, a bold $11 million initiative designed to enhance campus facilities, establish an endowment, and ensure a vibrant future for students and the wider school community.

Capital Projects Overview

  1. Classroom Revitalization
Sixteen classrooms were renovated over the summer; featuring upgraded flooring, lighting, ceilings, and furnishings.  Further renovations are planned to create dynamic, collaborative learning environments.

  1. Auxiliary Gym & Facilities Complex
The school will build an auxiliary gym that includes:

    • A performing arts stage

    • The Bishop Luers Hall of Fame

    • Upgraded locker rooms, concessions, restrooms, a weight room, and staff offices

    • 100 new parking spaces to support growing demand

  1. Endowment Fund
A long-term goal of the campaign is to establish a sustainable endowment, ensuring Bishop Luers can continue its strong educational mission for years to come. Details are forthcoming.

Naming Opportunities

Individuals, families, and businesses can make a lasting impact through naming opportunities; such as naming a classroom, laboratory, or the cafeteria. This is a meaningful way to support student success while being recognized on campus.

Five Reasons Bishop Luers High School Stands Out

  1. Holistic, Values-Based Education
As a Catholic school, Bishop Luers nurtures students in faith, academics, and service; grounded in dignity, integrity, respect, and responsibility.

  1. Excellence in Performing Arts
Known for its robust performing arts, including the Minstrels Show Choir, concert choir, and theater productions, Bishop Luers hosted the nation’s first Show Choir Invitational in 1975.

  1. A Legacy of Athletic Achievement
The Knights field teams in 19 sanctioned sports and 6 club sports. In 2008, Luers made history by winning football, basketball, and baseball state titles in a single year.  The first school in Indiana to do so since 1973.

  1. Community Service Through Sodalitas
The Sodalitas program delivered approximately 1,500 service hours, generating over $50,000 in community value during a recent service day. Students served across dozens of organizations with standout impact.

  1. Strong Enrollment Support & 100% Graduation Rate
For the 2024–2025 school year, Bishop Luers had a 100% graduation rate, an 11.8:1 student-teacher ratio, and an enrollment of approximately 553 students.
