A Season of Creativity Awaits

🎭 Youtheatre Fall Semester: Classes for Every Young Star

Fort Wayne Youtheatre’s Fall Semester begins September 6, and registration is open now through August 31. This season, students will have the chance to act, sing, move, and create in a fun, supportive environment that has been inspiring young artists for nearly a century. Spots are filling quickly, so don’t wait to sign up!

 

Here’s a look at the five exciting classes being offered this fall:

 

Grades K–1:  Pre-Creative Drama: Happily Ever After

📅 Saturdays, 10:30–11:25 am
👩‍🏫 Teacher: Em Humbarger
Young performers will step into the magical world of fairy tales, exploring beloved stories through imaginative play, creative movement, and foundational theatre skills. This class is all about whimsy, wonder, and happily-ever-after fun.

 

Grades 2–5:  Voice for the Stage: Be Prepared! (Disney Villains)

📅 Saturdays, 10:30–11:25 am
👩‍🏫 Teacher: Alyssa Plisco
Students will explore classic Disney villain songs, building confidence in solo and group singing while learning vocal techniques. This class is perfect for kids who love music, storytelling, and a little mischief.

 

Grades 2–5:  Movement for the Stage: Seize the Move!

📅 Saturdays, 11:30 am–12:25 pm
👩‍🏫 Teacher: Yaro Carpenter
Inspired by Newsies, this movement class invites students to leap, spin, and strike a pose. All confidence levels are welcome, with a focus on building comfort and expression through stage movement and dance.

 

Grades 2–3:  Creative Drama: Spellbound!

👩‍🏫 Teacher: Yaro Carpenter
From Wicked to Harry Potter, students in this magical class will bring enchanting stories to life through acting, improvisation, and creativity. This class is filled with imagination—capes optional!

 

Grades 4–5:  Beginning Drama: Folktales, Fairy Tales, & Myths

📅 Saturdays, 12:30–1:25 pm
👩‍🏫 Teacher: Em Humbarger
Students will explore timeless stories from around the world, bringing characters and legends to life through expressive storytelling, voice, and body language.
